A putting green built right plays at real green speed (Stimp 9-11 depending on infill) and holds up year-round. Built wrong, it's a fuzzy patch of indoor-outdoor carpet that drains poorly and balls roll funny on. The difference is in the base prep, the turf selection, and the contouring.
We use tour-grade nylon turf with sand infill, build the contours during base prep (so they actually hold a roll line), and install multiple cups for practice variety.
